Before: Dated, Wasted Space

Before: Dated, Wasted Space Bigger does not necessarily mean better. Laura hasn't adorned her bedroom for decades, and it shows. This huge, neglected area has potential but needs help.

After: Timeless and Tasteful Candice creates a floor plan that includes a sitting area and desk. She makes the fireplace a focal point, including custom cabinetry. Wheat-colored carpeting throughout, accent rugs along with a mix of soothing fabrics help create a calm, warm space. Trimwork on the vaulted ceiling offers play; a chandelier adds luxury and love. This homeowner is thrilled. "This is the most amazing room I've ever been in," she says.

Ahead: Floral Overload Poppy has a huge master bedroom, but if pink is the predominant color, ample square footage goes by the wayside. She desperately wants a Caribbean-inspired escape that reminds her of this tropical location she used to call house.

Following: Caribbean Nights Candice creates a luxury spa texture by removing a wall between the bedroom and toilet and opting for motorized draperies, allowing an airy and open feel. The addition of a high-end tub makes the room feel like an exclusive spa. The outcome is exactly what the homeowner wanted and much more, and it's Candice's all-time favorite bedroom makeover.

Ahead: Bland Bachelor's Room This uninspired bedroom/home office belongs to Earl, a high-school instructor who wants a trendy, eco-friendly space that he'll be proud to show to guests.

Following: Eco-Friendly Cool Candice chooses a low-VOC paint in a warm blue colour, a mix of natural fabrics and recyclable carpet tiles since a number of the environmentally friendly elements in this bedroom. "Now it's easy on the eyes and easy on the Earth," she says. Along with the homeowner happily agrees.

Ahead: Furniture Challenged This is the bedroom of 2 active parents; they are finally ready to devote some time and energy into turning this space into an actual adult sanctuary. Good thing they've Candice to help them.

After: Third-Floor Luxury This bedroom is all about the warmth: Candice chooses fabrics which pick up light and shine. A customized headboard features chenille fabric with a metallic thread. Mirrors, brought in to bounce the area's light, are agreeing to coincide with all the mattress's luxurious damask bedding. Built-in cabinetry provides storage.

After: Sleek and Chic Suite Candice creates a grownup sanctuary. The very first point to go: the background. She replaces it with neutral paint and vibrant, striped draperies. A sitting area highlights the bay window and invites, among other items, breakfast in the bedroom.

Before: A Clean Slate Veronique enjoys the color beige, and it shows in her cavernous, neutral bedroom. She dreams of a fireplace and a bedroom that reminds her of the home.

Following: French-Inspired Master Candice, motivated by her customer's French heritage, produces a bedroom which might have been plucked from Europe. Hand-carved wood floors, engineered walnut, a plethora of moldings along with a fireplace reminiscent of a French chateau help create the Old World look. Panels featuring an original painting of one of Veronique's favorite French sites disguise the television.

After: Organic and Bold Candice brings one of her favourite colour palettes to this area: fabrics and bedding in "spicy" tones. She generates a characteristic wall/headboard with vinyl floors, adds a new platform mattress and upgrades mirrored closet doors with privacy picture. Candice dubs the design "kid-free and parent ideal." I believe that the homeowners will concur.

Ahead: Space Overload This bedroom belongs to a couple who spent a long time living in a small Japanese apartment. Since coming to the States and upsizing, they have not been able to furnish and design their dream bedroom. That's where Candice comes from.

Following: Intimate Meets Interactive Candice generates the romantic feel the few needs with a king-sized bed and also an elegant new fireplace. She adds panels wallpaper insets to a long, bare wall and divides the space into zones for relaxing and sleeping. She's a TV for him and hides it for her at a motorized footboard that raises and lowers the display. The woman of the home loves the solution. "This is beyond my dreams," she states.

Before: Identity Crisis Brian and Heather have combined households, but this new husband is still hanging to his masculine, nonfunctioning bedroom. The area has some intriguing features, including quirky architectural details and a brick wall.

Following: His-and-Hers Chalet Suite Candice is determined to make a bedroom that speaks to both of its own clientele. She goes for "chalet chic," bringing in neutral and greens fabrics and jazzing up the curtains with dressmaker details. She adds leather and a stove that makes Brian happy. "The space is the perfect manifestation of both our fashions," Heather says. "That which I envisioned and more"

Ahead: White Attic Tatiana and her husband are a cosmopolitan, chic couple; their bedroom, however, is anything but. It features several doorways, one little window, older furniture and small style.

After: Sultry Sophistication Candice brings in color, light and texture to the top floor space. She adds mirror accents into the doors and pops of art. She tips the eye to believe that the one lone window is much bigger than it is. "It all turned into a chocolate heaven," Tatiana states.
