Colorful Contemporary

Colorful Contemporary "Headboard design is important because it produces a focus in a space. It centers a distance, and it gives the room its initial 'terminology,'" states Deborah Wecselman of Deborah Wecselman Design. In this modern space, "the headboard serves to pull the room together; it complements the wall and enhances the entire look," she states. "We decided to make use of a curvy shaped, upholstered headboard emphasized with nickel nailheads to complement the tile background of the wall," Wecselman states. The deep sage color of the headboard is pulled in the entertaining multicolored wall, and also the nailhead trim echoes the colorful circle design with a bit of timeless sophistication.

Coastal Collaboration "We love to combine styles when designing a room, and this chamber can be described as a mix of modern, coastal and cottage designs," says Regan Baker of Regan Baker Design. This bedroom is at a house in Carmel-by-the-Sea and Baker's layout was inspired by the popular coastal destination in California. Here, the raffia headboards make a subtle statement, bringing depth and interest, while maintaining the coastal texture. Says Baker, "We thought they would be perfect because they added some feel, warmth and shore vibes!"

So Shabby Chic Refreshed with white linens and given a bit glamour using a crystal chandelier, this beautiful bedroom has been well on its way to a shabby-chic appearance. Classic furniture adds another important component to this area. But it's the worn, textural richness provided by the old, chippy wooden doorways used as a headboard that really completes this unique style.

Cool Rustic Industrial A wood-paneled focal wall brings welcoming rustic warmth to this bedroom, while corrugated metal cut to mimic a shapely classic design cleverly adds undeniable industrial vibes like a headboard. Pops of yellow accessories include a bright and enjoyable element to the otherwise hushed gray, blue and white colour scheme.

Cozy Cottage With its mixture of subtle patterns and soft colours, along with the found feel of the collections of books and frames, this guest room is ultra inviting. A monogrammed, burlap-covered headboard increases the down-home coziness, bringing understated natural texture and colour to the scene.

Authentic Traditional With soothing hues and antique-inspired elements, this welcoming bedroom allows its exquisite headboard design be the attention. A subtle paisley design on a neutral floor works well for the valance, whereas the soft aqua curtain background softens the look and simplifies the bedding. A duo of studying lamps and silvery end tables complete this dreamy space.

Rustic Retreat Shapely slabs of reclaimed wood make for a stylish statement headboard and also the focal point of the rustic room. Royal blue walls enable the natural textures and elements to actually pop.

a conventional Twist In beautiful colors of blue, this elegant master bedroom shows a modern twist on traditional design. It's the sudden elements, such as a drama on patterns and layering of colors, which give this room an updated kick. Medallion-printed drapes, chevron ginger jars and a gingham rug all operate together in similar shades of navy and white. The oversize, upholstered headboard is a major focal point that provides intrigue while at the same time pulling together all the aqua components to perfection.

Effortlessly Eclectic When combining a variety of design styles, there are a couple of things to keep everything in stability. A consistent color palette and thoughtful layering are significant, as is a statement piece that functions as a focal point for your own space. Having a color scheme in berry, pumpkin and lilac, this room has an artsy, inviting feel. Printed pillows and a lilac throw tie with this fairly palette. The shapely, button-tufted velvet headboard with nailhead trim takes centre stage and is complemented by floor-to-ceiling drapes and sparks of stone in the chandelier, side table and striated wallpaper.

International Goodness "This distance is nestled in among the most prestigious buildings on the Las Vegas Strip, The Mandarin Oriental. Our customer wanted to complement the building's aesthetic, so we paid homage to the eastern Asian design by integrating sleek and subtle touches all over," states Lisa Escobar of Lisa Escobar Design. With the headboard being one of the first things you see when you walk into a bedroom, it often dictates the vibe of the rest of the space. Escobar says, "A statement piece which employs both function and form, this headboard is featured as the main art setup with a beautiful, textural metallic grasscloth wall covering supporting it."

a bit Country In this timeless, country-style room, the details make the difference. "Bold colour, used reasonably, plays an significant part in this bedroom," says Melanie Millner of The Design Atelier. In spite of the spare design of the space, main color is featured prominently on the doorway, the quilt and throw pillows, and notably the bright-red iron headboard (the area's statement piece).

Memorably Modern "This bachelor pad includes a California bungalow kind of vibe, so that it plays a modest modern and a little masculine, without being over-designed," states Kristen Forgione of The LifeStyled Company. "We needed a [headboard] that could take up much of this wall without making the ceilings or room feel lower or smaller." When choosing a headboard, Forgione says, "Definitely think about the ceiling height. A high headboard can be really great for a shorter ceiling elevation, even though a low-profile headboard can even work in a space with a vaulted ceiling! Also, make certain to think about the nightstand proportion in height, compared to the headboard."

Modern Femme Moment With this lovely boudoir, Jessica McClendon of Glamour Nest says, "I wanted the headboard to pop up out of the busier, more intricate wallpaper, but I wanted to pull just a little color out onto the furniture so the wall was not the only element in the room with thickness. The very best way to do this is to obtain a fabric [for the headboard] that matched the deeper pink at the flowers on the background." When selecting a headboard for a room, says McClendon, "Consider your design but also the way you would like your bedroom to feel. Cozy might mean velvet or tufting, glamorous might mean satin or pink, and relaxing may signify a soft blue. In addition, don't be afraid to have a little fun with your headboard. You can do this with the shape, feel or the color."

Divine Art Deco Luxury and modernity meet in this elegant bedroom. Luxe touches abound in a clean neutral palette sparked with metallic accents that are fantastic. Texture also comes into play with all the artsy, sculptural lamp and tactile headboard. Though the headboard's hue blends into the creamy color strategy, the tucked and tufted design adds dimension and depth to the design. Mirrored end tables and a lavish gold throw finish this deco design.

A Feminine Feel In the colour scheme to the pattern blend, this pretty boudoir is a ladylike haven. The slightly oversized, tufted velvet headboard makes a luxe statement in both fabrication and wealthy, jewel-toned hue. The beautiful layered effect begins with the floral wallpaper and proceeds with the headboard, eclectic bedding, birdcage lamp and accessories that soften and define the distance.

Proceed For Glam This all-out glamorous bedroom "is a play on textures with splashes of bold color," says Shea Pumarejo of Younique Designs. Together with the goal being an ultra-luxurious, imperial area, no detail has been forgotten. "The tufts in the headboard have Swarovski crystal switches in them, which certainly increase the glam factor," Pumarejo states. "The height of the headboard makes sure it controls attention and pulls your eye up into the Swarovski crystal hardware on the window treatments. If you'd like the bed to be the focal point in the space, don't skimp on the height of the headboard," Pumarejo states. "Go big or go home!"

Bring on the Boho With its sleek lines and natural palette in leather and wood, this headboard nicely merges contemporary style with traditional design. It is a standout against a muted stripe background and retains its own next to the clean-lined nightstand, table lamp and accessories. Even the layered bedding works to beautifully combine the two styles to attain the effortless appearance of transitional layout.

Terrific Transitional Using its found-item decoration, the plan of the farmhouse-style bedroom easily pulls off a genuine feel. A textured wooden door is turned on its side, then topped with an old gate to create a one-of-a-kind headboard that's as crafty as it's decorative. Piles of cushions and also an abysmal neutral color palette maintain the space feeling bright and comfy, not cluttered, even though a classic barn ladder matches the height and type of the headboard flawlessly.

Farmhouse Fabulous The wingback styling and menswear fabric of the headboard perfectly complement the classic preppy design of the bedroom. Matching curtains add a lot of texturel, along with the reversible plaid comforter and plaid-trimmed shams provide dimension and a hint of color. The monogrammed, Greek-key throw pillow picks up the red detailing and is an eye-catching accessory to this masculine-prep room.
